234 Ítaca is the latest project by JAA – José Adrião Arquitetos.
At the start of each project, the JAA team visits the sites to understand their construction history, spaces, uses, materials and the changes that have shaped them over time, whilst also identifying the conditions that may guide their future transformation.
These visits are fundamental to defining intervention strategies. We observe, take notes, photograph, sketch and measure. We seek to build a thorough understanding of the site, capable of revealing its qualities, enduring features and potential. It is through this direct contact with the buildings and their surroundings that the project begins.
