We met the team in front of the ruined house in Trafaria. “Impecável”, they said. An initial idea came to their mind in minutes. They were full of energy and ideas to turn the ruined house into a cost-efficient but comfortable family home. Our initial chemistry turned into a working relationship which focused on a pleasant process, good communications and regular on-site visits. The production of scaled models and real life examples helped to visualize our future house. Besides the excellent relationship between JAA and ourselves, they also managed professional relations with all involved in the process, including the municipality and the managers of the construction company turning the construction process into a joint collaboration between all parties. The ease they showed in communications and bringing us all together made building a home a stress-free endeavour.

Although JAA designed the house into detail, including the selection of finishes, we always felt included and consulted in the decision-making processes. However, nothing could prepare us for the final result of this joint project – it’s more than a house, it’s a well-designed home. Thanks to JAA our house is a clear representation of our values and way of life, making it a ‘home’ in every sense of the word.
