Santa Clara

The project on the resting area around the bridge ruins of the river line of Santa Clara a Velha, was based on two clauses that regulated the proposal: an available 10 000 euros budget for its accomplishment and the scarce manual work in the area.
During our first visit to the area, joão a 9 years old boy, who knew the place very well, insisted that we should know the islands. We followed joão and he lead us opening way through the thick bush, where we came across two islets located on the river side completely hidden by the vegetation.
From this point onwards the project was defined: a more thorough understanding of the area was necessary, it was also indispensable to create a circuit that would allow others to discover the area as we had.
The project consisted of a request and delivery to the area of five HEB 400 profiles, each one 6 metres long. The installation is done with the help of a crane, on five previously defined points of the existing land. Three of these joists are turned into seats and the others allow one to cross over to the other islets, it also enables one to reach a point on the riverside and visualize the bridge ruins right where it begins.
